Accountant - accounts payable (Spokane, WA)

Amberfield Thistle Learning Group runs classrooms and tutoring across the Spokane area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 19 people based in Spokane. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around learning materials against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to school calendars, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Spokane. • We reply to every applicant.
