Accountant - accounts payable (Seattle, WA)

Cedar Ridge Learning Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for learning materials, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a small organisation of about 11 people based in Seattle. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to learning materials, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around family communication against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with learning materials. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Seattle, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
