Accountant - accounts payable (Seattle, WA)

Lumen Orchard Telecom Group is a telecommunications provider in Seattle focused on reliable home and business connections, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people based in Seattle. What you will do • Track costs around network equipment against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to billing accounts, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for nine months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Seattle, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
