Accountant - accounts payable (Seattle, WA)

Amberfield Glen Inspection Services Group tests and certifies buildings, pipelines and equipment around Seattle. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Technicians travel and report carefully. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field inspections, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Seattle, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
