Accountant - accounts payable (Seattle, WA)

Rivermark Vista Early Learning is an early-learning provider in Seattle, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to enrolment, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around meal programmes against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • On site in Seattle, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
