Accountant - accounts payable (Savannah, GA)

We are growing our team at Silverline Sable Manufacturing Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Many of our supervisors started on the floor. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to work orders, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around scrap and rework against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Savannah. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
