Accountant - accounts payable (Savannah, GA)

We are growing our team at Bright Harbor Arts Center Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. We run on creativity, deadlines and a lot of goodwill. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to school partnerships, and clear open items. • Track costs around event logistics against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
