Accountant - accounts payable (Savannah, GA)

Ironwood Ashton Foods Group makes sauces, snacks and prepared meals in Savannah. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 32 people based in Savannah. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around allergen controls against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, mornings. • On site in Savannah. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
