Accountant - accounts payable (San Jose, CA)

We are growing our team at Cedar Nest Financial Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Career paths are clear. What you will do • Track costs around vendor spend against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer onboarding, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with customer onboarding. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in San Jose. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
