Accountant - accounts payable (San Jose, CA)

We are growing our team at Redstone Yarrow Inspection Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 927 people based in San Jose. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with scheduling. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in San Jose. • We reply to every applicant.
