Accountant - accounts payable (San Jose, CA)

Westbrook Field Property Management is a San Jose property manager with leasing, maintenance and resident services. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Maintenance and leasing staff share information every day. What you will do • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around rent collection against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with unit turnovers. • A degree or certificate in accounting.
