Accountant - accounts payable (San Diego, CA)

Silverline Harbor Freight Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for dock schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to dock schedules, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around carrier rates against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with dock schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • On site in San Diego, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
