Accountant - accounts payable (San Diego, CA)

Nova Willow Pharma is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for regulatory filings, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 469 people based in San Diego. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory filings, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with regulatory filings. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • On site in San Diego, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
