Accountant - accounts payable (San Diego, CA)

Bluepeak Basin Inspection Services is an inspection company in San Diego with field technicians and lab staff, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Technicians travel and report carefully. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around client sites against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to field inspections, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with field inspections. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
