Accountant - accounts payable (San Diego, CA)

Amberfield Harbor Freight moves freight for manufacturers and retailers out of San Diego. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. On-time is the promise and we work hard to keep it. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around customer tracking against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to claims, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with claims. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in San Diego. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
