Accountant - accounts payable (San Antonio, TX)

Harborlight Sparrow Hospitality is a hospitality company in San Antonio with restaurants, rooms and catering. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around reviews and feedback against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to guest bookings, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in San Antonio. • We reply to every applicant.
