Accountant - accounts payable (San Antonio, TX)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Fern Arts Center and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. Everyone pitches in on show days. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around visitor services against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with ticketing. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • On site in San Antonio, with some flexibility after the first few months. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
