Accountant - accounts payable (Salt Lake City, UT)

Fernwood Bridge Farms is an agricultural business based around Salt Lake City. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 169 people based in Salt Lake City. What you will do • Track costs around packing house output against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with seasonal crews. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Salt Lake City. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
