Accountant - accounts payable (Salt Lake City, UT)

Summit Hollow Arts Center runs a venue and education programmes in Salt Lake City. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to school partnerships, and clear open items. • Track costs around ticketing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with school partnerships. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for four months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • On site in Salt Lake City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
