Accountant - accounts payable (Salt Lake City, UT)

We are growing our team at Westbrook Sparrow Banking Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 959 people based in Salt Lake City. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to branch operations, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Salt Lake City. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
