Accountant - accounts payable (Salt Lake City, UT)

Bluepeak Sable Community Partners is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for benefits enrolment, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 240 people based in Salt Lake City. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around food distribution against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to benefits enrolment, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with benefits enrolment. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • On site in Salt Lake City, with some flexibility after the first few months. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
