Accountant - accounts payable (Sacramento, CA)

Ironwood River Staffing Associates is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for onboarding, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Speed and follow-up matter. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to onboarding, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around temp assignments against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements.
