Accountant - accounts payable (Sacramento, CA)

We are growing our team at Bright Ivory Banking Services and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of about 816 people based in Sacramento. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around fraud alerts against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with deposit accounts. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • On site in Sacramento. • We reply to every applicant.
