Accountant - accounts payable (Sacramento, CA)

Cedar Orchard Energy Group is an energy provider in Sacramento focused on reliable service and fair billing. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Reliability is the job, and people here take pride in answering the phone at 3 a.m. when needed. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to usage data, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with usage data. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 24 hours a week, with flexible days. • On site in Sacramento. • We reply to every applicant.
