Accountant - accounts payable (Richmond, VA)

Amberfield Stone Banking Services is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for fraud alerts, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to fraud alerts, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with fraud alerts. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • On site in Richmond. • We reply to every applicant.
