Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

We are growing our team at Northwind Yarrow Freight and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. We reward reliability. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to carrier rates, and clear open items. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with carrier rates. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for eight months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Las Vegas. • We reply to every applicant.
