Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

We are growing our team at Nova Bright Pharma and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. People move between science and operations roles. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around regulatory filings against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with release testing. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, mornings. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Tucson. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
