Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Northwind Linden Facilities Group cleans and maintains buildings for schools, offices and hospitals around Savannah. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Bilingual teams are common. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to contractor visits, and clear open items. • Track costs around cleaning schedules against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with contractor visits. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Savannah. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
