Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Highbridge Fern Farms grows and distributes produce from farms near Orlando. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 185 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to seasonal crews, and clear open items. • Track costs around field records against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with seasonal crews. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with quarterly visits in Orlando. • We reply to every applicant.
