Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Cedar Yarrow Inspection Services provides independent inspection and testing for industry across Omaha, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Independence and accuracy are our product. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client sites, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around certifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with client sites. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Omaha. • We reply to every applicant.
