Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

We are growing our team at Highbridge Sable Markets Associates and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. We like people who know our customers by name. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around pricing against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with online orders. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Madison. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
