Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Harborlight Forge Hospitality runs guest-focused properties across the Tampa area. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to housekeeping schedules, and clear open items. • Track costs around food costs against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • Experience with housekeeping schedules. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with a review at the end and a chance of extension. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Tampa. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
