Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Clearpath Meadow Community Partners is a Fresno charity working with residents on basic needs and opportunity. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around volunteer shifts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to grant reporting, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with grant reporting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Fresno. • We reply to every applicant.
