Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Amberfield Iron Press Group is a printer and publisher in Toledo serving local and national clients, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Many of us have been here for ten years or more. What you will do • Track costs around print quotes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to proofing, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Experience with proofing. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Toledo. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
