Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Harborlight Bright Markets operates grocery and general-merchandise stores around Dallas, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Track costs around store inventory against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to promotions, and clear open items. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with promotions. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Dallas. • We reply to every applicant.
