Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

We are growing our team at Clearpath Timber Construction Group and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 33 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around change orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with safety records. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in St. Louis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
