Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Bluepeak Lakeside Arts Center is a cultural organisation in Sacramento presenting exhibitions and performances, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Everyone pitches in on show days. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to visitor services, and clear open items. • Track costs around school partnerships against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in Sacramento. • We reply to every applicant.
