Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Westbrook Pine Community Partners runs community programmes across St. Louis, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Flexibility and kindness are expected. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client intake, and clear open items. • Track costs around volunteer shifts against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with client intake. Working arrangement • Full-time, Monday to Friday. • Remote-friendly, with a monthly team day in St. Louis. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
