Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Rivermark Thistle Staffing Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for onboarding, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to onboarding, and clear open items. • Track costs around client orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Chicago. • We reply to every applicant.
