Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Cedar Field Construction Group is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for project schedules, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to project schedules, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around change orders against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with project schedules.
