Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Nova Oak Foods Partners makes sauces, snacks and prepared meals in Atlanta, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Food safety is non-negotiable and we train for it. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Track costs around ingredient orders against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with sanitation schedules. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, spread across three days. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Atlanta. • We reply to every applicant.
