Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Cedar Sable Financial is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for regulatory reports, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. Career paths are clear. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Track costs around loan applications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to regulatory reports, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Experience with regulatory reports. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 20 hours a week, afternoons. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Richmond. • We reply to every applicant.
