Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Clearpath Iron Medical builds devices used by hospitals and clinics, with its team based in Oakland, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. You would join a small organisation of about 123 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around regulatory submissions against budget and explain variances to managers. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, on a regular day shift. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Oakland. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
