Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Silverline Forge Freight coordinates shipments and warehousing around Oakland. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Track costs around loads and lanes against budget and explain variances to managers. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with claims. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 16 hours a week, afternoons. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Oakland. • We reply to every applicant.
