Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Silverline Timber Staffing is looking for an Accountant. The job centres on accounts payable for client orders, and it would suit someone who likes steady, practical work. You would join a large organisation of about 848 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to client orders, and clear open items. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Track costs around timekeeping against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Experience with client orders. Working arrangement • Contract for twelve months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Fully remote, with an occasional day on site in Omaha. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
