Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Westbrook Loom Pharma supports drug development and manufacturing around Richmond. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to batch records, and clear open items. What we are looking for • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in Richmond. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
