Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Ironwood Timber Property Management looks after rental homes across the Philadelphia area, and we need an Accountant to lead our accounts payable. Residents are neighbours, not numbers. What you will do • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to unit turnovers, and clear open items. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around rent collection against budget and explain variances to managers. What we are looking for • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with unit turnovers. Working arrangement • Full-time, with a steady weekday schedule. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in Philadelphia. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
