Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Fernwood Granite Manufacturing is a Fort Worth manufacturer supplying regional industrial customers. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. Shifts are steady and overtime is planned. What you will do • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Track costs around tooling against budget and explain variances to managers. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to customer orders, and clear open items. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • Familiarity with audit requirements. • Experience with customer orders. Working arrangement • Part-time, about 28 hours a week, with flexible days. • Fully remote, with a monthly team day in Fort Worth. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
