Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

We are growing our team at Foxglove Meadow Staffing and adding an Accountant whose main responsibility will be accounts payable. You would join a large organisation of more than 1,000 people, working mostly from home. What you will do • Track costs around timekeeping against budget and explain variances to managers. • Review invoices and expense reports for accuracy before payment. • Work with purchasing and operations to fix recurring coding errors. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to retention, and clear open items. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. Nice to have • A degree or certificate in accounting. • Familiarity with audit requirements. Working arrangement • Contract for six months, with clear deliverables from the first week. • Remote-friendly, with an occasional day on site in New Orleans. • Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis.
