Accountant - accounts payable (remote)

Nova Drift Inspection Services provides independent inspection and testing for industry across San Diego. We are hiring an Accountant to take on accounts payable. You would work closely with colleagues in operations, support and management. What you will do • Reconcile bank and vendor accounts each month, including anything tied to equipment calibration, and clear open items. • Track costs around certifications against budget and explain variances to managers. • Keep the chart of accounts and supporting files tidy so anyone can follow them. • Build schedules for the annual audit and answer the auditors' questions. • Prepare journal entries and support the month-end close on a fixed calendar. What we are looking for • Two or more years of hands-on accounting experience. • Careful attention to detail and a habit of checking your own work. • A clear, patient way of explaining numbers to non-accountants. • Solid spreadsheet skills and comfort with an ERP or accounting system. Nice to have • Experience with equipment calibration. • A degree or certificate in accounting. Working arrangement • Contract for three months, with the possibility of becoming permanent. • Fully remote, with quarterly visits in San Diego. • We will tell you what to expect at each step of the hiring process.
